Types of Sentiment Analysis

Sentiment Analysis is not limited to text; it can extend to other forms of content, each with its methodologies:

  • Text Sentiment Analysis: The most common form of Sentiment Analysis, text-based analysis, is a subset of NLP focused on written opinion mining. It applies to social media posts, product reviews, blogs, and more.
  • Visual Sentiment and Emotion Analysis: This form of analysis, although less commercially developed than text-based methods, focuses on interpreting emotions depicted in visual content, such as images and videos. It identifies emotions like happiness, love, joy, and anger from facial expressions and other visual cues.
  • Audio Sentiment Analysis: This approach relies on emotion detection combined with speech recognition to analyse spoken content. It assesses emotions like stress, frustration, and enthusiasm from both the tone of voice and contextual clues.
